Dr. Rand Paul got his undergraduate degree at Baylor University then attended Duke Medical School in 1988 for his graduate degree. With this degree, he opened up his own Ophthalmology Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
In 1995, Rand founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic; An organization that provides eye exams and eye wear for families in need. This organization expanded internationally and has been a former president and 19 year member.
Elected in 2010 to the United States Senate, Rand serves on the Foreign Relations, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Homeland Security and Government Affairs and Small Business Committees. He has gained popularity due to his independent position on political issues.
There is discussion that Rand will run for President in the next Presidential Election.
RANDS IDEAS
Budget: Wants to cut funding for programs such as Medicaid and Medicare; Has created a 5 year plan that would balance out our federal budget.
Education: Believes in more local government handles this issue; as Federal Government increases, education test scores and funding plummets.
Taxes: Proposed plan FY2014 that replaces our current system with a low-rate flax tax. Flax tax would eliminate every form of double taxation.
Rand is Senator of the state of Kentucky. Kentucky has a population of roughly 4 million people. Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky, although, Frankfort is the capital. It's major industries include mining, automobile manufacturing and agriculture.

Fun Fact--> Along with being a Senator and a doctor, Rand has coached little league baseball and basketball for the past ten years.
